Donut Hole Acorns

Agnes Hsu
This fall season, impress your guests with these delicious donut hole acorns! These bite-sized fall treats are perfect for any party or get-together, and they’re sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen donut holes
  • 1 - 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • Assorted fall-colored sprinkles mixed together
  • Pretzel sticks broken in half

Instructions

  • Start by mixing together some assorted fall-colored sprinkles in a shallow dish. Then, melt 1-1½ cups of chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring until it's smooth.
Dip the top ¼ of each donut hole into the chocolate, reserving some for later use. You can use a small spoon to help spread it around if necessary.
This will be the "glue" that will hold the sprinkles in place.
Next, roll each dipped portion of the donut in your chosen sprinkle mixture. Place the donut holes on an ungreased baking sheet and allow them to set while still soft.
If you're in a hurry, you can pop them in the fridge for about 15 minutes. This will help the chocolate harden faster.
While the chocolate is still sticky, you can press additional sprinkles into the surface if desired.
Once they're set, break half a pretzel stick and insert it as a stem on each acorn. Once you have done this, place the acorns on a plate and dig in!
