Baking the Cupcakes
- Begin by preheating your oven as per the instructions on the cake mix box.Prepare your cake mix per instructions. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and pour in the batter until each is about ⅔ full.Bake the cupcakes as per the box instructions or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
Decorating the Cupcakes
- Once the cupcakes have cooled, it's time to bring the Grinch to life! Color your icing green, yellow and red. Using a rounded tip and piping bag, pipe on a generous green swirl of frosting. Pipe on two yellow eyes and dot with red icing gel (you can color red frosting if you'd like too).Pipe on black eyebrows with either black icing gel or black icing. Now, take the red frosting and frost a dollop with a rounded tip to look like a Santa hat. Dot the edges with a small star tip for the white trim with white frosting. Don't forget to add a white tip!
