Apple Crinkle Fries

These crispy apple fries paired with a creamy caramel dip, topped with crunchy peanuts and the sweetness of mini chocolate chips are the perfect fall treat.

Ingredients

  • Fresh apples (We recommend a firm variety tart variety like Granny Smith)
Caramel Dip
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Caramel sauce (store bought is fine)
  • Chopped peanuts
  • Crinkle cutter

Method

  1. Wash, core and slice the apples. Don't slice them too thin, about ⅜" is great so they can be cut into fries. Using your crinkle cutter, cut the apples into 'fry' shapes.
*Note: apples will brown! If you don't want to fuss with the steps it takes to prevent apples from browning, make the dip first and refrigerate (covered up to 3 days) and then cut the apples right before serving.
  2. Creamy Caramel Dip In a mixing bowl, blend together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Gradually add a couple of spoonfuls of caramel sauce and mix until it's a light caramel color. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.Sprinkle the top with chopped peanuts. For the final touch, drizzle a generous amount of caramel sauce. Remember, the more textures and layers, the better!
