With just a few simple ingredients you can make this delicious and tasty one-hour focaccia bread that is a fun baking project for kids or beginners.

Ingredients

  • 320 ml water
  • 7 g instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 8 g sugar
  • 400 g flour
  • 8 g kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  1. Blend It Up: In a food processor, briefly blend the water, sugar, kosher salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the Flour: Add the flour to the wet mixture in the food processor. Blend until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it forms a smooth ball/
  3. Let It Rise: Place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise covered with a cloth for 15 minutes.
  4. Shape the Focaccia: After the dough has risen, shape it into a rectangle about ½ inch thick on a 9" x 12" sheet pan lined with parchment paper or greased. Let that rise covered with a cloth for 10 minutes.
  5. Season and Drizzle: Sprinkle the sea salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning over the dough. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the top.
Create Dimples: Use your fingertips to gently press down on the dough, creating dimples all over the surface.
  6. Final Rise: Cover the dough again and let it rise for an additional 15 minutes while preheating your oven to 450°F.
  7. Bake: Once the dough has finished its final rise, bake it in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Enjoy: Remove the focaccia from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your homemade focaccia with your favorite toppings or as a side to your favorite meal!
