Skeleton Cupcakes

Using cupcakes and some clever assembly of pretzels and marshmallows, you'll have yourself the cutest skeleton cupcakes to celebrate any Halloween party!

Ingredients
  

This tutorial is PER CUPCAKE so multiply the amount needed to fit the number of cupcakes you want
  • Pre-baked cupcake
  • 1 spoonful of frosting 
  • 1 tablespoon crushed Oreo 
  • 1 standard-size marshmallow
  • 1 black food writer pen
  • 1 lollipop stick
  • 4 mini marshmallows
  • 3 chocolate covered pretzels (could also use yogurt pretzels)
  • 3 blocks almond bark or candy coating
  • Parchment Paper

Method
 

Start Instructions Here if making the pretzels:
  1. Melt almond bark or candy coating in 30 second increments, stirring after each to prevent burning.
    Dip pretzels into the chocolate, use a fork to drain off excess chocolate
    Place on parchment paper to set
    For a thicker coating, after they set, dip them again.
Instructions for the cupcakes
  1. Add one spoonful of frosting in an even layer on the top of the cupcake
    Add a tablespoon crushed oreos to the top
    Draw a face on the marshmallow and set aside to dry
    Insert a lollipop stick
    Slide one mini marshmallow onto the lollipop stick, followed by a yogurt covered pretzel. Repeat twice.
    Top with skeleton face

Notes

Fun fact
You can mix the filling from the Oreos (it's just buttercream) in your frosting! Or just eat it lol.
