Using cupcakes and some clever assembly of pretzels and marshmallows, you’ll have yourself the cutest skeleton cupcakes to celebrate any Halloween party!
Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s time to get your spook on! These skeleton cupcakes are a fun, easy Halloween treat to make with kids that will be sure to put smiles on those little ghost and goblin faces.
The cupcakes start with a pre-baked vanilla or chocolate cupcake base. Frost with a creamy vanilla or chocolate buttercream frosting and sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies on top for a delicious dirt-like effect. Use a black edible marker to draw a jack-o-lantern face on a marshmallow and set it aside to dry and harden.
Now comes the skeleton body. Insert a lollipop stick into the center of the cupcake, then slide mini marshmallows and chocolate-covered pretzel bones onto the stick, alternating until you have a complete skeleton. Top it off with the marshmallow head and you’ve got a spooky skeletal cupcake confection!
