How to Make Vampire Cookies:

Step 1: Prepare Your Cookies Start by laying out your chocolate chip cookies on a clean, flat surface. If you’re feeling adventurous and have time, you can bake a batch with your kids, following your favorite recipe.

Step 2:  Cut Cut each cookie in half. This step is for adults or older kids with supervision or use a kid-safe knife.

Step 3: Frost Outline the round edge of each cookie half with pink frosting to depict the ‘gums.’ A piping bag or a zip-lock with one corner cut off works great for this but we LOVE this easy piping bulb great for little hands. Don’t worry if it’s a bit messy – vampires aren’t known for their neatness! Tip: pipe the frosting generously towards the edge of the cookies so the pink “gums” will show.

Step 4: Add marshmallows On the bottom half of your cookie line up mini marshmallows along the pink frosting line for the ‘teeth.’ Kids love doing this step and it’s a great fine motor activity!

Step 5: Finish the Vampire mouth It’s time to close those mouths before they start haunting! Gently press the top half of the cookie onto the marshmallows, allowing the fangs to protrude spookily.

Step 6: Fang-tastic! Now, these vampires need their iconic fangs. Insert a slivered almond on each side of the marshmallow line, pointing downwards, to give your bloodsuckers some bite.

Optional: Use red gel icing to add drips of “blood” down the teeth or by the fangs.
