Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, family, and of course, an abundance of delicious food. But what do you do with all those leftovers? This year, instead of the same old turkey sandwiches, let’s get creative and turn those leftovers into a scrumptious and easy-to-make giant stuffed waffle!
My 5 year old baker son @DashBakesTheGreats had a great time showing how to make these easy Thanksgiving stuffed waffles with refrigerated biscuit dough so this is also a great lunch kids can help make!

How do you make Thanksgiving Waffles?
You’ll need refrigerated biscuit dough, Thanksgiving leftovers, and a stuffed waffle maker. Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy stuffed waffle machine (although we highly recommend it!) We’ve stuffed waffles with S’mores and even strawberry cream cheese filling before!
Once you separate your biscuit rounds, grease your pan with some butter and lay the filling on top. Add another round of biscuit, close the lid, and cook.
Thanksgiving Stuffed Waffles – Ingredients:
- Refrigerated biscuit dough
- Assorted Thanksgiving leftovers (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc.)
- Melted butter
Equipment:
- Stuffed waffle maker (or a regular waffle maker for a thinner version)
- Rolling pin
Instructions:
- Preheat Your Waffle Maker: Start by heating your stuffed waffle maker. If you’re using a regular waffle maker, keep in mind you’ll need to layer your ingredients more sparingly.
- Prepare the Dough: Separate each biscuit into two rounds and roll each flat with a rolling pin. Try to roll it out the size of your waffle maker .
- Layer the Leftovers: Add a pat of butter to the top and bottom of your waffle maker and spread with a brush to coat evenly. Place a flattened biscuit round on the waffle maker. Then, add a layer of your Thanksgiving leftovers. This could be anything from turkey and stuffing to mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. Try not to overstuff too much and layer it in the center.
- Top and Seal: Cover the leftovers with another layer of dough. Ensure the filling is well inside and not overspilling.
- Cook: Close the waffle maker and cook, for 3-5 minutes. Then open the maker and flip the waffle. and then close it again for another 3-5 minutes. If you don’t do this, the other side never gets as crispy and brown!
- Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove your giant stuffed waffle cut into half. This is great to see all the Thanksgiving layers! You can enjoy it as is, or with gravy, extra cranberry sauce, or any condiment you love.
Tips and Tricks:
- Experiment with different combinations of leftovers to find your favorite.
- Adding a layer of cheese inside your stuffed waffle can add an extra layer of flavor and gooeyness.
- Don’t forget about leftover vegetables! They can add a nice texture and flavor to your waffle.
- Serve your stuffed waffle with a side salad or some fresh fruit for a complete meal.
- Someone said using stuffing as the “biscuit” would be amazing. We haven’t tried that but if you do please let us know how it goes!
Conclusion:
This stuffed waffle is not just a fantastic way to use up Thanksgiving leftovers, but it’s also a fun and delicious lunch the day after Thanksgiving. It’s easily customizable, and a twist on traditional holiday foofd. Give it a try and see how your Thanksgiving leftovers can turn into a new favorite meal!
