What You Need to Make Caramel Grapes

  • 2 cups of grapes (pick the nice looking ones)
  • ½ cup of caramel sauce * tips below
  • ½ cup of peanuts diced up very small
  • Toothpicks

How to Make Caramel Grapes

Since these Caramel Grapes are so easy to make, you’ll have no problem whipping these up! First, you’ll want to wash and dry the grapes very well. I suggest using only green grapes because they are firmer and look nicer! Then, you”ll want to place a toothpick in the grapes and stick them in the freezer for 5 minutes. You want them to firm up just a bit before you dip them in the caramel. Then, you’ll want to dip the grapes into the caramel and then right into the peanuts. Try to use a refrigerated caramel if you can. I find that if it is room temperature, it is very thin and will not hold the peanuts well. Lastly, place the grapes on parchment paper and then place them in fridge to keep the caramel firm.

Why This Recipe Hits a Home Run

This recipe hits a home run because it’s simple, easy to make, and requires very little ingredients. Another thing I love about this recipe is that it’s a healthy twist on an otherwise plain piece of fruit. Don’t get me wrong, I love grapes, but I also love caramel and nuts which turns this snack into a tasty dessert! Putting the grapes in the fridge makes the grapes super crisp and cold, making this a perfect summer snack for those hot, sweaty days! Another reason I love this recipe is because it’s a perfect pool party snack! You can whip up these Caramel Grapes in twenty minutes with very little prep. Plus, kids absolutely love this snack! You’re providing them with a healthy dessert alternative, while also giving them a little something sweet to curb those sweet tooth cravings!

Should I cut my grapes?

Yes if serving to little kids. Do not serve whole grapes to kids under age 4 they are a choking hazard Always slice in pieces or use a grape cutter.

Some Delicious Q&A:

What Kind of Grapes Can I Use for the Caramel Grapes?

The recipe calls for green grapes because they tend to be firmer than red grapes. However, I know that not everyone likes green grapes so it’s totally fine to use red ones if you prefer! Red grapes tend to be sweeter and not as sour as green grapes so it makes for a perfect swap!

Can I Use Other Nuts Besides Peanuts?

Yes! Not everyone likes peanuts, so you can use any other nut you like! A great alternative would be crushed almonds, pecans, walnuts, or even cashews! My kids would love sprinkles too.

If I Don’t Like Caramel, Can I Use Chocolate Instead?

Of course! This recipe is all about what you or your kids prefer. Most people like caramel; however, chocolate would make this fall snack even more decadent! You could totally use a milk, dark, or even white chocolate to make this recipe an ultra indulgent dessert!
