This is another reason why I love these mini Pop tarts. Since they’re made using pie crust, you just have to put in the filling and pop in the oven to bake. No messy grease to worry about at all!

INSTRUCTIONS
Mini Valentine Pop Tarts
Ingredients
- Refrigerated Pie Crust We used Pillsbury
- Jam We used strawberries
- Frosting We used store-bought cookie icing that dries hard, like Wilton Cookie Icing
- Valentine sprinkles
- 1 Egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- With a knife, cut out 20 2" x 1.5" rectangles Note: One pie round (Pillsbury refrigerated brand) will make a total of 10 mini Pop Tarts, which is what we made.
- Lay 10 rectangles on a parchment lined baking sheet and add one heaping teaspoon of jam in the center.
- Lay another rectangle on top of the bottom one. Crimp the edges with a fork. If it's not adhering well, use your fingers and dip in water to help seal.
- Take a toothpick and lightly prick the tops.
- Crack an egg into a bowl, mix and add a couple of teaspoons of water. Brush on Pop Tarts before baking.
- Bake for 10-2 minutes until tops are golden brown.
- Allow Pop Tarts to cool completely. Drizzle frosting over the pop tarts evenly and add Valentine sprinkles over them. We like using "cookie icing" so it dries hard like Royal Icing. Of course you can always make your own. Or use other types of frosting - just note it may not dry hard.

Tips For Making These Mini Valentine Pop Tarts
Even though this recipe is super simple, there are a few tips to keep in mind. If you don’t get the edges of the crust sealed together completely, some of the jam is going to come out onto the baking pan. It’s not a big issue but just something to try to be aware of to seal the sides if possible.
Be certain to let the pop tarts cool all the way as well before eating because they’ll really hold in the heat. The last thing that you want is to have someone burn their mouths on this delicious treat!
To keep them fresh once they’re baked, store them in an airtight container with a lid. When you’re ready to eat, you can eat as is or pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm up to enjoy.
