This Valentine Jarcuterie is the perfect individual treat for Valentine’s Day! Let the kids create their own dessert Charcuterie! They’ll have too much tasty fun with this new food trend.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, all we can think about in our house are sweets and treats. But this year, we wanted to do something a little bit different. 2021 is a new start and that means new ideas, right? I’ve been hearing all about this new Instagram and Tiktok food trend that is super popular and delicious and this is how we came to creating our very own Valentine Jarcuterie to share with each and every one of you.

We’re also big fans of Charcuterie boards but we knew that we needed to create a sweet and treats one for Valentine’s Day.

What does Jarcuterie mean?

If you’re making a charcuterie board, then it means that you’re basically putting a sampling of meats and cheeses on a platter (or any themed foods in our case Valentine treats) for snacking purposes, dessert, or as an appetizer.

So take that same thought and theory and apply it to the current trend of a Jarcuterie. For this Valentine themed one, this basically means that you’re taking samples of sweets, treats and candies and putting them in a jar, rather than spreading them out on a board.

Genius, right? Not only is it easy for the kids to carry around and snack all day but it also makes for a super cute presentation and gift ideas well.

In these pandemic times where there aren’t a lot of social gatherings and food sharing, the jarcuterie is the perfect individual and safe snack.

Tips For Making This Valentine Jarcuterie

Keep in mind that you’re going to want all the ingredients to fit as best as possible inside of the mini glass jar. You can accomplish this by stacking the sweets and treats and layering them carefully.

If you’re going to be adding in chocolate, I would recommend putting the chocolate on last so it doesn’t get smashed or start to melt.

You also don’t want any of that extra sugar falling off of the other candies and sticking to the chocolate as well.

While you don’t need to put a lid on this in the beginning, if you’re unable to eat it all and want to save some for later, you might want to consider adding a lid for storage at that point in time but  omitting the fruit.

Have fun and remember you can really add or omit any ingredients of your choosing!
