This gorgeous Rainbow Fruit Heart Healthy Valentine Snack is a great non-candy treat to give kids on Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s day can be full of love and happiness but also sugar, candy and chocolates. Curb the sweets and give your kids a healthy Valentine snack this year that will make them feel equally loved!

This beautiful rainbow fruit heart is so easy to make too! It makes a gorgeous Valentine snack platter or board for a Valentine party for kids (and adults!) to indulge in.

I find my kids will eat more fruit if I lay it out all cut up in a appetizing way. And a heart rainbow fruit pattern doesn’t hurt either!

Of course I don’t have time to do this all the time, but on special occasions like Valentine’s Day, I make the time to give my kids an extra special snack.

What do I need to make this Valentine Fruit Platter?

The beauty of this Rainbow Valentine fruit platter is that it requires no baking, or expensive ingredients. It’s basically fruit cut up into a beautiful edible heart shape!

A quick tip we have is to make a large heart shape out of parchment paper and cut that out and place on our board, similar to how we did our Halloween Snack Tray. This way you have a food safe shape to follow and fill in.

We love rainbow fruits around here so we decided to make our heart rainbow by using raspberries, melon, mango, green grapes and blueberries. The berries we laid out whole, but we sliced the mangos and pineapples.

Nowadays you can get small containers of mango and melon freshly cut at places like Trader Joe’s or your grocer’s fresh fruit section. So we did that here and only had to dice them super small. The grapes were halved. Note if you have toddlers you will need to quarter the grapes.

What alternative shapes can I make for a healthy Valentine Snack Board?

You don’t have to stick to a heart! You can also opt to cut the fruits into heart shapes instead and lay them out on our snack platter. Fruit like watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew make cute heart shaped fruit. Use a small heart cookie cutter to cut them out easily.

What can I serve with this heart shaped Valentine Snack?

We think the simplicity of this fruit snack platter makes it a delicious and refreshing treat alone. However, you can opt to add a yummy yogurt dip. Use nonfat Greek yogurt drizzled with honey, or vanilla or strawberry yogurt would be fun too!
