These Easter Egg Nests are a kid-friendly no-bake Easter treat made with just 5 simple ingredients!

My kids LOVE these adorable Easter Egg Nest treats. They’re super easy to make and look really, really fun. They crack up, talking about how they’re eating a bird’s nest, and I love that they’re making fun memories around sweet Easter treats that we’ve created together.

I do have to admit that this is one of my favorite Easter desserts because they’re fast and simple. The texture of these edible nests is also addictive and fun!

The kids love the smoothness of the melted chocolate with the crunch of the noodles – and who knew that added noodles would be such a delicious idea in a dessert?

Don’t the noodles get soggy?

They actually don’t! Initially, you might think so, but there is where coating them in the melted chocolate, and other ingredients help them hold their shape and their crunch.

As long as you make sure that everything is melted and apple to the noodles well, they’ll still be the same crunchy and addictive texture.

How to Make Easter Egg Nest Treats

The fun part about making this Birds Nest dessert is that it’s simple to do!

First, melt the chocolate chips. Grab a microwave-safe bowl and melt the chips for about 60 seconds. Stop and stir every 15 seconds. You will do this until the chips are melted and smooth. (be careful not to over melt or overheat and burn them, as you will have to throw away the entire thing)

Once the chocolate is melted, stir in the powdered sugar and the peanut butter. Mix until it is nice and smooth.

Pour the noodles into the mixture, and mix with a silicone spoon. Fold and mix carefully so that you don’t break the noodles.

Grab a muffin pan/cupcake pan and spray each of the areas with non-stick cooking spray. Wipe the area after that with a paper towel so that you don’t have a ton of oil just sitting in the tin.

Scoop and drop the mixture into the tins and then use the back of the spoon to press down an area in the middle.

Put three of the candy eggs in the middle area of the nest.

Place the tin in the fridge for 20 minutes until they are solid. Pop them out of the tins and serve!

Pro Tip

If you have trouble taking the nests out of the muffin tin after putting it in the fridge, use a fork and carefully pull them off the bottom.

Variations

While this nest dessert recipe is perfect as is, you can always change things up and try something new!

Change the chocolate chips – White chocolate chips work well, but you can easily use any other flavor that you want. Butterscotch chips or semi-chocolate chips are a great idea, too.

Use different candies – If you want to try different candies, go for them. Any candies that are easy to chew and circular will work. This means that you can use M&M’s, Robin Eggs, and more.

How do I share nest treats with others?

The fun part about making this Easter nest dessert is that you can share it easily. Just add one nest to a gift box and hand it over.

You can also add them to a cellophane bag and tie them closed with a cute ribbon.

Don’t forget to add a fun little note if you’re gifting them to someone so that they know who they’re from!

If you want to make these for a family Easter gathering, these are great for the dessert table! They’re adorable and hit all the flavor and texture notes that anyone could want!

What do chow mein noodles taste like?

That’s the thing about these noodles…they really don’t have a taste. They have a texture that people love, and they’re easy to flavor.

This is why these noodles are used in desserts and other dishes – because they’re versatile in how they end up tasting.

Using them in a dessert proves how versatile they are!

How do I store Easter Egg Nest treats?

Since you don’t want these treats to get stale, be sure to store them in an airtight container. As long as you keep the air away from them, they should stay fresh for up to 1 week.

You can store leftovers in the fridge, but you don’t have to. You can also freeze them, too!

To freeze these bird’s nest treats, just add them to a freezer bag or a freezer-safe container. As long as you can get an airtight seal and keep other scents out, they’re simple to freeze and store.

Once you are ready to eat them, just move them to the fridge to thaw.

Why is my melted chocolate so thick?

If you are concerned that the chocolate is too thick once it has been melted, you can add a tiny amount of coconut oil to help thin it out.

Be sure that you add in small amounts because you don’t want to make it too thin that you can’t use it! You can always add more if needed, so start small and increase as you go.

What can I use instead of chow mein noodles?

It’s possible to make this treat without using chow mein noodles, but don’t expect it to have the same texture or flavor. You can use pretzel sticks, but just know that there will be more of a salty taste with each bite, and it won’t be as delicate as the noodles.

Using shredded coconut is also another choice, but you will likely have to use quite a bit more of it to have the right texture. Also, if you don’t want a ton of extra sugar, make sure that you’re adding unsweetened coconut instead of sweetened coconut.

Have fun making these Easter Egg Nests! They’re a super fun way to make a festive Easter treat!
