We always love to try new recipes around the holidays and these add the perfect amount of festive to all of the other traditional cookies and treats. If you love Oreos like we do, you’ll love these!

Wouldn’t these delicious, festive treats make the perfect neighbor or friend gift?! Package in a clear bag tied with holiday ribbon or fill a mason jar with the cookies, wrapped with ribbon or chunky yarn around the top of the jar.

They’re also a super fun holiday treat to make with kids! They will love decorating their own edible Christmas trees this year.

Are there substitutions for the Oreo Christmas Trees recipe?

You can absolutely use your favorite Oreos, classic, holiday Oreos, DoubleStuf, peppermint or even just your favorite flavor for the trees.

Melted white chocolate chips or almond bark could also be used instead of white candy melts.

You can use any color of nonpareils, white, holiday mix or rainbow, or even just one color. Want it extra sweet? Dip the entire cookie in the melted white chocolate, milk or dark chocolate.

We love using a piping bag and tip, but sometimes a cookie decorating bottle is easier. Green cookie icing already pre-made is another option.

Oreo Christmas Tree Ingredients:

Oreo Cookies

White Candy Melts

Green Candy Melts

Star Sprinkles

Chocolate Jimmie Sprinkles

Rainbow Nonpareils

How do you make Oreo Christmas Trees?

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Melt white candy melts according to directions.

Dip the bottom half of each Oreo into the white candy melts and place on parchment paper.

Allow them to harden, about 5-10 minutes.

Melt green candy melts according to directions. Fill piping bag with a small round tip.

Pipe a small Christmas tree design onto the dipped Oreo using a zig zag motion. Make sure to create a tip to adhere the star on top and a trunk on the bottom to adhere a chocolate sprinkle to represent the trunk of the tree.

Immediately after creating the tree design with the green candy melts, first place the star on top, second, the jimmie sprinkle on bottom and then sprinkle with nonpareils onto the tree before the green candy melts dry. They sometimes dry fairly quickly.

Set at room temperature to harden, about 15 minutes.
