Omelets have always had a special place in my heart. They are easy to make, nutritious, and delicious breakfast food! My kids love them too, adding different toppings such as bacon, herbs, and cheese to the middle! We’re always up for trying a new egg hack and TikTok’s new inside omelet created by TikTok’s Feel Good Foodie incorporates everything that we love but flips it inside out. Putting the cheese down first, it comes out crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside! Yum!

How To Make The Inside Out Omelet
To make TikTok’s inside-out omelet, start by heating a non-stick pan on medium heat. Next, add shredded cheese to your pan. I like to add one big handful, enough to create a solid layer that covers the bottom. The cheese will begin to melt on the hot pan, then get crispy. After the cheese has started to crisp, pour two whisked eggs straight on top and season with salt, pepper, and herbs of your choosing. Wait till the omelet has cooked through (covering the pan with a lid will help speed up the process). Once the egg is cooked through, flip one side of the omelet over, sealing the herbs and seasoning inside. Place on a plate and serve with your favorite sides.
What To Serve With The TikTok Omelet
The original inside-out omelet recipe created by Feel Good Foodie was served as a low-carb, keto option. She paired her omelet with a side of tomatoes and half an avocado. In another example, Lowcarbwithfan, another popular TikTok star, added some extra toppings including bacon, sour cream, and hot sauce.
In my opinion, when it comes to omelets, anything goes! There are so many delicious fillings and combinations to try. Some of my favorites include chopped ham, sauteed mushrooms, peppers, and onions. I like to saute my vegetables before adding them to my omelet. This helps soften them and will also enhance the flavor. If you want to add some crunch, feel free to add the vegetables raw.

Other Omelet Tips:
Prepare your ingredients ahead: When I make my omelets, especially when making the inside-out omelet, I like to plan ahead. I recommend whisking your eggs and preparing your fillings before you start melting the cheese. You want to wait for your cheese layer to be crispy before pouring your egg mix. But be careful, wait too long and your cheese layer might burn! By preparing all of your ingredients first, you will be ready to go and can add your ingredients at the right time.
Invest in a good non-stick pan: I highly suggest using a non-stick pan when making not only the inside-out omelet but traditional ones too. This way you will avoid making a mess and your omelet will stay intact throughout the whole process.
Avoid overstuffing your omelet: I recommend using no more than 1/3 cup of filling for a two-egg omelet. If you prepare too much filling in advance, instead of overfilling, simply use the additional filling as a side.
Use fresh, organic eggs: The ingredients you use to make a difference in both the taste and nutrition of your food. When choosing your eggs, look for those that are organic and pasteurized.

TikTok Inside Out Omelet
- 1 cup Shredded Cheese We used Cheddar
- 2 Eggs
