This easy tuna tapenade pasta makes a delicious and simple Mediterranean-inspired dinner with the help of store-bought olive tapenade.
We’re all for super quick one-pan pasta dinners or recipes like our favorite baked feta pasta, or spinach dip baked pasta. These easy pasta dinners like this Tuna Tapenade Pasta save us when it’s that evening time crunch and the kids are super hungry. I know some kids are not into tuna and olives, but my kids actually love tuna and fish in general! They also like the brininess and saltiness of olives which imparts such a great Mediterranean-inspired flavor along with the tuna and tomatoes. This easy one-pan pasta dish comes together easily in about 30 minutes and is great for leftovers the next day. It stands well as itself cold for a quick pasta salad lunch, too!

How do you make Tuna Tapenade Pasta?
This simple tuna pasta comes together with just 6 ingredients! You’ll need your favorite pasta; for this one we used fettuccine but you can use your favorite shape of pasta. We used really good canned tuna packed in oil along with our favorite Trader Joe’s brand of Olive Tapenade. This is the trick to this quick and easy pasta – to sure store-bought tapenade. These days there are so many great ones you can get at your local grocery stores in the deli or refrigerated aisles. What we like about the Trader Joe’s Olive Tapenade is that it’s already seasoned with herbs, pimentos, spices and oil so it flavors the pasta really well and easily without you having to add many additional ingredients. We added some chopped red onions and cherry tomatoes along with parsley garnish to give our pasta a fresh and flavorful flavor.
What else can you add to this easy Tuna Pasta?
You could add additional protein that pairs well with tuna such as hard-boiled eggs. That would definitely give it more of a French Nicoise flavor!

Tuna Tapenade Pasta Recipe
- 3 5 oz Cans of tuna, packed in oil
- 2 TBSP Red onions chopped
- 1 Pint Cherry tomatoes
- 16 oz Fettucini pasta
- 7 oz Olive Tapenade we used Trader Joe's Brand
- Parsley for garnish
- salt and pepper to taste
- Cook your fettucini pasta according to the package instructions, drain.
- Add to a pan or dish that is large enough to fit your pasta. We used a 9" x 9" pan.
- Mix in your olive tapenade to the pasta.
- Add the onions, tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste. Note the tapenade is salty so we did not add salt to ours.
- Garnish with chopped parsely.
