These easy spider pancakes are cute not spooky! They make a festive Halloween breakfast idea for the kids!

The day of Halloween can seem crazy and busy with the kids excited for trick or treating and all pumped up for the sugar high! You can start the morning off right with these not-too-sweet Spider Pancakes! They are so versatile and easy to make with blackberries as “spiders” as a fun Halloween breakfast! Read more for options on how to dress them up.

How do you make spider pancakes?

You can take your favorite pancake recipe (we love this pancake recipe) and make them from scratch. Or in a pinch use frozen pancakes. We always tell our readers to do what’s easiest for them and have made the cutest food art with frozen mini pancakes before!

Then just add your icing drizzle in the shape of a spider and add some blackberries for the spider. We added some illustrated eyes to show how they could look in these pictures (we ran out of googly eyes at home 🤣). But you could easily just add candy googly eyes if you have them!

How do you make the icing for the pancakes?

Our favorite easy white icing is adding a couple of tablespoons of powdered sugar and a few teaspoons of water until you get the drizzling consistency you want. You can add a splash of vanilla extract to pump up the flavor.

Then add the icing in a plastic sandwich zipper bag, snip a tiny hole and then create your spiderwebs.

Another alternative is to melt white chocolate chips or white chocolate wafers.

What fruit can I substitute for the spiders for this Halloween breakfast?

You could use similarly sized raspberries but a red spider would be kind of creepy! You could also create a simple one out of blueberries and since it would be larger, just have that on top of one pancake.
