We absolutely love Sweety Mochi ice cream and are excited to show off their latest flavor, ube. Some of our favorite past flavors include Simple Strawberry and Vietnamese Coffee. As soon as we discovered the newest flavor, Ube Purple Yam, we couldn’t wait to give it our own taste test.
Using purple yam or ube (pronounced ‘oo-bae’) from the Philippines to make this new ice cream flavor. Ube is well known for its moderately nutty, vanilla flavor and is suprisingly delicious as an ice cream flavor!
What is Sweety Mochi Ice Cream?
Sweety Mochi Ice Cream is a traditional Japanese treat made with 100% farm-fresh California milk to create creamy, flavorful ice creams bundled into a soft, delicious rice dough.

Ube naturally has a taste similar to white chocolate, vanilla or pistachio, not too intense so that the first bite into the mochi is delightful.
The size of each mochi and thickness of the exterior layer of dough surrounding the ice cream is perfection; a stretchy, chewy, soft texture. Once you’ve reached the center ice cream part, you’ll taste nothing but the mild flavor of ube and the creamiest ice cream.
