Create a festive, kid-friendly Thanksgiving fruit board with a “turkey” made from a pear and colorful fruit skewers as tail feathers. It’s a healthy and fun way to celebrate, and the kids will love helping make it!
Turkey Fruit Board – Ingredients
1 pear
2 candy eyes
a slice of cheddar
1/3 cup red grapes
1-2 bananas
1 kiwi
1 tangerine
8 dried cherries (or cranberries)
¼ apple
a little lemon juice
How to make a turkey fruit board
1. Peel the apple and cut into cubes. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
2. Peel the kiwi and cut it into quarters. Cut into 1/3-inch thick slices. Chop the bananas into circles.
3. Prepare the turkey pear. Cut off a small piece of pear so that it stands flat on the plate. Apply a drop of honey and place the eyes and beak in a triangle. Place the turkey on the edge of the plate and lay out the feet from the halves of grapes.
4. Prepare the skewers. First, choose the optimal length for your board, cut off excess pieces of the skewer if necessary. Start assembling with dried cherries, then add a slice of tangerine, a banana circle, kiwi and an apple. Finish assembling with grapes. Fan the skewers into the pear.
Garnish the board with mint leaves. Optional: serve the fruit with a dip like yogurt or honey.
