This TikTok Nature’s Cereal recipe made famous by Lizzo is packed full of antioxidants and is a healthy breakfast made with coconut water.

Lately, I have to thank TikTok for feeding my kids delicious, unique and creative foods. TikTok food trends have gotten dinner on the table via the famous Baked Feta Pasta or TikTok Ramen recipe. Or breakfast like baked oats or this insanely good Breakfast Wrap Hack.  Here’s another fun breakfast TikTok food you can add to your list, this vibrant and healthy TikTok Nature’s Cereal recipe. From what we can gather by looking at the #naturescereal hashtag, the famous singer @Lizzo was  the one who made this healthy breakfast cereal go viral. However, the original recipe seemed to be first posted by @natures_food.

How do you make Nature’s Cereal?

The best part about this cereal other than the health benefits is how incredibly easy it is to make. The original recipe calls for just pomegranate seeds, blackberries and blueberries.  Then you pour coconut water over it to substitute as your “milk” and dig in, it’s that simple! On Lizzo’s version, she adds ice and we like how that made our coconut water even more refreshing so we added small ice cubes to ours. You could use cold coconut water or omit the ice altogether.

Lizzo also added strawberries to her cereal and we decided instead to add raspberries as that’s what we happened to have at home. Berries are delicious, considered a superfood, and a great source of antioxidants so you can’t really go wrong with what type of berries you use in this healthy cereal.

What are the benefits of this Cereal?

According to @natures_food who posted the recipe, the first effect you’ll notice is that the antioxidant-rich nature’s cereal is great for digestion. The second thing you’ll notice is after adding a big bowlful, you’ll feel intense energy, enough to run a “marathon.” Of course that is an exaggeration, but I can understand the thought. Personally, I’ve gone on juicing cleanses and can always feel a big increase in nergy when I consume a ton of fruits and vegetables.

Berries are delicious, considered a superfood, and a great source of antioxidants so you can’t really go wrong with what type of berries you use in this healthy cereal. Pomegranate seeds are also a great source of antioxidants as well as coconut water. Coconut water is also healthy and is high in electrolytes and potassium. Some people prefer it as an alternative to sports drinks, as it’s more naturally derived.

What does Nature’s Cereal taste like?

I’ll admit I was skeptical about this cereal and wondered if it would taste like soggy fruit. However, I actually enjoyed this unique and refreshing way to eat berries! There is something about adding the ice that instantly cools the coconut water and brings out its subtle sweetness, but also makes the fruit taste more juicy and fresh. If you’ve had cold berries vs. room temperature ones you’ll know what I mean. The pomegranate seeds add a nice crunch and texture, and the blend of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries complement each other well since they’re all in the same fruit family.

Next time I might try adding some honey, pineapple for variety, and sliced slivered almond for extra nutrition and crunch.

How do you make this healthy berry cereal kid-friendly?

My 3 year old was very interested in “playing” with nature’s cereal and all about scooping the fruit and coconut water, but he wasn’t really into eating it straight. If you have little kids younger than 3, small whole fruits can lead to choking hazards, so that’s another consideration to keep in mind. He became much more interested when we added the fruit to a blender and made a smoothie!

We added a tiny bit of honey to offset the saltiness from the coc0nut water and that seemed to help him down a good half cup. This berry cereal is a great way to get kids to eat antioxidant-rich fruits.
