This easy Pencil Sandwich Lunch is a fun way for your kids to celebrate back to school!

Make this cute pencil sandwich lunch to get your kids ready learn on their first day back to school! Of course you can make them any time of the year, but we think they’re just the perfect lunch for back to school.

Is it easy to make a pencil sandwich?

Sure is! If you’ve followed us here for  while, you’ll know we’re all about easy, simple and cute food art. As a mom of 3 I know it’s not realistic to spend hours on making elaborate food characters. But I still want to make cute foods for my kids!

All you need to make these pencil sandwiches are tortillas, ham, cheese and a bit of seaweed or nori. If you don’t have that, it’s okay! Use a piece of dark candy or even a cluster of chocolate chips for the pencil tip. 

Pencil Sandwich Lunch for Back To School – Ingredients:

  • Tortillas
  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Ham slices
  • Nori or seaweed
  • Kitchen scissors

My kids had a great time gobbling these up and are geared up for back to school! These would make a cute surprise in your kids’ lunchbox on the first day too!

This easy Pencil Sandwich Lunch is a fun way for your kids to celebrate back to school!

Ingredients
  

  • Tortilla
  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Ham slices
  • Nori or seaweed
  • Kitchen scissors

Instructions
 

  • 1. Cut your tortillas into long rectangles.
  • 2. Cut your cheddar cheese slices into triangles to the width of your tortilla. Use kitchen scissors to make jagged edges like a pencil. Just snip off triangles from the bottom.
  • 3. Cut squares out of ham.
  • 4. Cut dots and lines from the seaweed.
  • 5. Assemble it all together as shown. Your pencil lunch is ready!
