How to make a Jack-O-Lantern Cupcake Cake

Step 1: Bake and Cool Your Cupcakes

Start by baking your preferred cake mix into 24 cupcakes according to the package instructions. Allow them to cool completely before moving on to decorating.

Step 2: Shape Your Pumpkin

Once cooled, shape your cupcakes into a pumpkin shape with 2 cupcakes at the top for the stem.

Step 3: Frost the Cupcakes

Using the orange icing in a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, pipe wide rosettes onto each cupcake. If there are gaps, you can pipe additional orange icing between cupcakes to fill any gaps. Leave 2 cupcakes at the top unfrosted.

Step 4: Add the Stem

Using the green icing in a piping bag fitted with a large star tip, pipe wide rosettes onto the remaining 2 cupcakes. If desired, add a little extra swirl of icing to make a vine.

Step 5: Add the Face

Using the black icing in a piping bag fitted with a smaller star tip, pipe little stars to create the Jac-O-Lantern’s face.
