These adorable Rudolph Reindeer Apple Pops are so much fun to make, plus everyone in your house can create and decorate their very own.
There’s just something exciting about creating your own snack that you can then sit down and eat…It just makes the process last that much longer. (and it’s teaching kids some really great kitchen and creativity skills, too!)
While there isn’t a lot that you need to do to help with these simple apple snacks, you do need to be the one to slice the apples just to be safe. After that, the kiddos can have fun with minimal supervision as they’re creating their own reindeer treats!
These apple reindeer pops make a healthy holiday snack for kids.
We love the holidays in our house but sometimes, it can be an overload of sweets and desserts. And while we love them sometimes, we also like to step back and enjoy something a little bit more healthy here and there.
This is why these Rudolph reindeer apple pops are so much fun. They look like they’re “treats”, but in all reality, they’re actually putting something nutritious in the bellies of your babes.
Well, yes, there is that candy red nose and mini M&M’s for the antler holiday lights, but you could use a piece of red apple for the nose and omit the chocolate and just use pretzels if you want to make these a healthy Christmas snack for kids.
What type of apple should you use for these reindeer apple pops?
That’s actually up to you and your taste buds! If you like your apples sweet, you can choose between red Gala, Jonathan, Pink Lady or more. But if you want them to be a little bit tart, Granny Smith apples are the way to go.
Just make certain that you wash the outside of the apple and slice it thick enough so that it holds up and won’t break apart. They’re the “canvas” for your creativity so they need to be able to stay together while being eaten.
Some people like to peal the outside of the apples as well before slicing them and that is totally up to you.
Why do my sliced apples keep turning brown?
This is common, don’t fret. And while I know it doesn’t look pretty, brown apples are still fine to eat. BUT, if you’re not wanting them to turn brown once you slice them, you can soak them in a little bit of water and lemon juice once they’re sliced until they’re ready to be used.
This will keep them from turning brown every single time. We didn’t because we at them right away, but if you want to prepare these ahead we recommend the lemon trick.

Ingredients
- Apples Any type of your choosing, sliced thick, at least 1/2"
- Candy googly eyes
- Red candy
- Mini M&M candy
- Pretzels
- Melted chocolate Just a bit to help the reindeer parts adhere
- Lollipop sticks 6" tall
- Toothpicks To apply chocolate
Instructions
- Slice your apples at least 1/2" thick. Soak in lemon water if you aren't going to eat them right away.
- Stick your lollipop stick on the bottom of the apple slices. It helps to have a somewhat sharp object like a chopstick first make an small indent so you can easily push the lollipop stick inside.
- Using your melted chocolate as "glue" just a toothpick to help adhere the candy eyes and nose.
- Using the same method to add the lollipop stick, do the same for the two ears and then insert half a pretzel into each ear.
- Use the melted chocolate and toothpicks to add the mini M&M's to the ears.
Notes
