These Fruit Palm Trees take just three simple ingredients and are so much fun to make! Perfect for a summer treat!

I know that we all grew up being told not to play with our food – but this recipe throws the old rules out the window. Not only do the kids get to play with their food, but you’re going to be encouraging them to as well!

Since this is a fast and easy recipe (only 15 minutes of time needed!), this is an amazing chance to let the kids hop in and help in the kitchen. They’ll be able to follow recipe directions and have fun doing so! And at the end, have an amazing snack to enjoy and eat.

Is it safe to let the kids cut with a knife?

Since this is soft fruit that is used, a butter knife is more than enough for them to use. This is a great way for them to work on cutting skills and learn about knife safety as well.

How do I keep the bananas from turning brown?

Since the palm tree trunks are bananas, you’re going to want to be sure that you don’t peel them ahead of time. The more air that touches them, the more that the bananas are going to start to turn brown in color.

They’ll still be fine to eat, but they just won’t look as pretty.

How do you layer the fruit for these fruit palm trees?

The detailed recipe directions are in the recipe card below but trust me when I say that this palm tree snack is super simple to do.

The bananas are the trunk, the kiwi is the leaves, and the apricot slices are the sand that you’ll layer around the base of the palm tree.

Can I add other fruits?

There’s always room for other fruits! You can add a round lemon slice in the sky as the sun, and add some blueberries hanging off the tree as well.

If the kids want to add more fruit, let them! Fruit is full of health benefits!
