Princess Cupcake Cake – Ingredients:
- 22 cupcakes (baked and cooled, using your favorite cake mix)
- Pink buttercream frosting
- Pretty sprinkles (edible glitter, pearls, or confetti-style)
- 1 piping bag
- Wilton 1M piping tip (or any open star tip)
- Pink candy melts or pink fondant
- Small tiara and Princess wand (washed, for decoration only)
- Bow silicone mold
*If using store-bought frosting note it can be soft for piping. You can add 1/2-3/4 cup of sifted powdered sugar to one can of frosting to stiffen it up. Mix well with a blender until fluffy. Add a few pinches of salt to balance the sweetness.

Instructions:
Step 1: Bake and Cool Your Cupcakes
Begin by baking your favorite cake mix into 22 cupcakes. Let them cool completely before decorating.
Step 2: Arrange the Cupcakes in a Dress Shape
On a large platter or cake board, arrange your cupcakes in the shape of a ballgown-style dress. See the photo for reference!
Step 3: Pipe Pink Rosettes
Fill a piping bag fitted with a Wilton 1M tip with pink buttercream. Starting at the center of each cupcake, pipe a swirl to form a rosette. Cover every cupcake in pink rosettes so they blend together into one seamless princess gown.
Step 4: Add Sprinkles to the Skirt
Sprinkle a generous amount of pretty edible glitter, pastel pearls, or shimmer sprinkles along the lower half of the “dress” to give it a touch of sparkle and elegance.
Step 5: Place the Tiara at the Top
Gently press a small tiara at the top of the dress where the bodice begins. This adds a royal finishing touch and gives your cupcake dress a focal point.
Step 6: Add the Princess Wand
Position a decorative princess wand at the bottom of the cupcake dress.
Step 7: Make and Attach a Bow
Melt pink candy melts according to the package directions and pour into a silicone mold shaped like a bow. Let it set completely. Once firm, place the bow in the center of the dress, right where the bodice meets the skirt. You could use fondant instead for this, though it will take longer to set up. If you don’t have a silicone mold shaped like a bow, you can pipe a pretty bow with some of the pink buttercream!
